So my second major time consuming project this summer was volunteer work for a group called visions of science
I co-taught an art class for a few weeks and then i contributed to the annual magazine.
By contribute i mean i provided illustrations to various short stories written by young kids
i grew up on Robert Munch books, so this was a chance to see things from the other side of the creative fence.
I enjoyed it so much that i'm am now looking into publishers for my own stuff.
anywaaays
The first story is about mans obsession with oil and war in the future and a giant robot that saves them all
The second story is about mother nature manifesting herself in the form of a little unassuming young girl and having a conversation with a wheelchair bound boy.
Both of these stories i found very diligent and possessed a conscientious tone well beyond what i expected by working with kids
thus i had no choice by to pull out the ol pastels and thought-full compositions
unlike the piece above where man is looking up, this piece has nature and her god like presence looking down.
