Vengeance
-King

Woot first post.

Hercules, perhaps the most famous and popular(I like Hector better) of the Greek myths and heroes. Demigod bastard son of Zeus and hated by Hera. Her contempt was so great, that she compelled him to kill his own rather large human family in a rage one night. He spent the next portion of his life making amends traveling around completing 12 insane labors for a mad king. These labors, that of which would range from the impossible to mostly suicide missions; were also of great benefit to the economy and peasants of the land. That’s the short hand, it's a good little story. I actually rather enjoy what Disney did with their adaptation. They took mad liberties but...what they ended up with was more Superman than anything WB has yet attempted under their own power.

Yes this is the same dude from my football boards, I drew this first, and got side tracked.

So my approach the Hercules story is still up in the air. At this point, it's just a few ideas I throw around with my cat every now and then. One of which being the cape. As always Cinder(my cat) serves as subtle inspiration in all my endeavors. The idea at the time being that Hercules wore the impenetrable remains of the Nemean lion. The reason why I would approach the lion design this way is because there is no drawing design consistency needed. I would only draw the lion design when the pose, rather story called for it, otherwise it would just be a random tear. As for the cape, well my Red series is all about kids being heroes and villains in what remains of their playground. Zack Snyder will be the first to tell you kids and makeshift red capes. Topping off the accessories is the obligatory brutish club. Again with a hint of sports allegory. The Red series does take place in the middle of the last century so the attrie is of that age. NOTE; the design has and will change.

How he fits into the story of the Troy's and Ashley, well I'm still waiting for my cat's feedback. It will of course keep the thesis of Myth vs Perception. Onto the boards.
